Non-residential property owners (businesses and non-profit organizations) have been placed into one of eight Waste Generation Classes (WGC). The assigned Business Groups are based upon the Land Use Codes contained in Montgomery County Board of Assessment records.
The following chart should give you an idea of what the WGF would be like for our example of a 2,000-square-foot property, which equals 1 Business Size Indicator or BSI. The business groups descriptions in the center column are representative, but not all inclusive. In addition, provisions have been made for small businesses to make them a fraction of a BSI.
The Waste Generation Fee basis for 2004 is $36.50 per ton.
